I'm so lucky to be celebrating almost a decade as the Hypnotherapy Program Instructor at the iNLP Center, and am the creator of our Advanced and Clinical Hypnotherapy Programs. Each program was created from my experience, certifications, and studies, which are all rooted in science, psychology, neuroscience, psychoneuroendocrinimmunology, human behavior concepts, and theories that draw from a tapestry of thinkers and clinicians:

Each program is taught with practicality, integrity, and professionalism. However, we do have a great time during our liv e classes every week (currently 7 live class times per week). Concepts taught go well beyond technique. We discuss theory, concepts, tools, neuro-linguistic frameworks, session structure, down to the creation and process of beliefs, emotions, and memories and how they create the pattern of perception we call our reality so you can educate clients and fully grasp the concepts of the tools and techniques you learn.

Why Hypnotherapy?

Clinical Hypnotherapy has been increasingly been proposed as an alternative to opioids to control acute and chronic pain. Doctors are also utilizing it as a tool for proactive post-surgery pain mitigation and healing as well as managing symptoms during cancer treatments, anxiety, IBS and a multitude of others.

Based on the studies below and many more like them, the practice of using techniques like Hypnotherapy (which has been documented for medical use all the way back to the Romans) to help mitigate pain and improve healing time, has been wildly successful and the West is finally catching up to what many other countries have known for centuries of human existence.

Cancer Surgery: Less Pain Medicine, Less Stress Thinking

Hypothesis: A short hypnosis session before surgery might help patients need fewer opioids and feel less stuck in painful thought patterns.
Findings: Patients who got hypnosis used less opioid medication in the week after surgery and were less likely to spiral into pain-related worry. 🔗Read the NIH study

Pediatric Cancer: Lower Treatment Pain

Hypothesis: Hypnosis could help children with cancer handle treatment pain better than usual care or relaxation alone.
Findings: Kids who learned hypnosis reported less pain during treatments compared to those who didn’t. 🔗Read the Pain Journal study

Surgery & Medical Pain: Faster Relief, Fewer Opioids

Hypothesis: Across many trials, hypnosis could reduce pain and cut down on painkiller use.
Findings: Review of 12 clinical trials showed hypnosis eased acute medical pain and significantly reduced the amount of opioids patients needed. 🔗Read the MDPI study

Anxiety (Agoraphobia): Less Fear, More Confidence

Hypothesis: Hypnosis could ease the severe anxiety of agoraphobia (fear of leaving safe spaces).
Findings: People who received hypnosis showed clear reductions in anxiety compared to a waitlist group, and most found the sessions helpful. 🔗Read the study on Frontiers

IBS (Gut-Brain Connection): Relief Through Hypnosis App

Hypothesis: Gut-directed hypnosis delivered through a smartphone app might improve IBS symptoms.
Findings: Over 350 people tried it. Those who used the hypnosis app had better improvements in stomach pain and bowel symptoms than those who used a relaxation app. 🔗Read the PubMed study
