These little dudes are from my "Your Mind Is Full Of Shift" Book Seires and I love them, the story behind them, and their symbolism. So once in a while, I let them bleed over to my practice site. Who doesn't love a cute stick figure?

What I Do
I specialize in mental wellness and optimization consulting services tailored to your individual needs. I'm dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your thoughts and emotions through personalized strategies and techniques to help you navigate life’s challenges and achieve emotional well-being. Let me teach you the tools you can learn and master to help you on your journey to a healthier and happier life.
For over 15 years, I’ve helped individuals and organizations optimize their abilities, shift perception, rewire thought patterns, and break through limiting beliefs using neuroscience-based strategies, hypnotherapy, coaching, and executive support. With 10 years of teaching experience and 25 years in executive optimization, I know that real change doesn’t come from quick fixes; it comes from learning the right tools and intentionally applying them with integrity and focus.
I work with anyone with a strong desire to shift their reality, and I specialize in working with veterans, first responders, and high-performing professionals who are ready to take control, eliminate self-sabotaging patterns, or self-destructive behavior, to create sustainable transformation. My approach is practical, educational, science-backed, and results-driven because when you understand how perception shapes reality, you can finally design a path that works for you.
For those interested in the concepts used here, they are all rooted in science, psychology and neuroscience studies, concepts, and theory that draw from a tapestry of thinkers and clinicians:
-
Jung's archetypes, personas, and individuation models.
- Watts’ “watercourse way” and explorations of ego.
-
Zeig’s development of NLP as a therapeutic approach.
-
Erickson’s linguistic genius and the roots of modern hypnotherapy.
-
Epictetus’ Stoic dichotomy of control.
-
Heidegger’s phenomenological lens on existence and meaning.
-
Ruiz’s timeless Four Agreements (get the book if you don’t have it!).
-
Beck and Ellis’ cognitive-behavioral foundations.
-
Schwartz’s Internal Family Systems model (aka Parts work).

A Step Away From "Professional", And A Little More "Cari".
Below Is More About Me so you know who you're meeting with.
In my spare time not teaching, with clients, or writing, I LOVE to travel with my family either around North Carolina or anywhere there are mountains and water (we aren't beach-y people - give us mountains and bears any day). We love getting out on our Harley or hopping in the Jeep for family road trips. As soon as the nice weather rolls around here in the mountains, we love to hike, fish, and enjoy time in our yard taking in the view, playing with our animals, and gardening. I also love to read and take courses on ANYTHING mind- or mind-body-related.
Of all the things I love and all the things that have made me who I am and who I'll grow to be, our kids always have been and always will be the center of it all. Our oldest son followed in his Dad's footsteps and became a United States Marine, and our youngest is going to be our family's first Sheriff's Deputy. I've been so in awe of the two of them and the men they've grown into.
I was waaaaay older than them when I finally found what I can only describe as a missing piece I didn't know I had. I studied the mind for years before realizing I could actually apply my knowledge to help others. I started my passion (obsession) through my own struggle with the residual and very heavy guilt from untreated and ignored PPD by my doctor. The impact it made helped me to see that it's something EVERYONE should be taught to use. So, here I am...just a few years past 20 (ha) and more than a decade deep into a dream job I could only wish I knew sooner. But I'm so unbelievably grateful that I can jump in every day and feel invigorated and excited to do what I do.
Well, that's me in a nutshell. I'm just a soul who has a lot to learn, limiting beliefs I'm still working on (because I'm human), lessons to grow from, and experience and knowledge to share.
