Each technique is expertly paired with an image that helps you to amplify your state of relaxation. Each technique is also something you can take with you to use any time you need to minimize the chaos.
Breathing techniques calm the nervous system:
When you're panicking, your sympathetic nervous system, which controls the "fight or flight" response, is in overdrive. Slow, deep breathing stimulates the vagus nerve, a key part of your parasympathetic nervous system—the system responsible for the "rest and digest" state. Deep breathing lowers your heart rate, reduces blood pressure, and tells your brain, "There’s no real emergency here."
