“Your brain 100% mistakes the volume of a feeling for the accuracy of a thought, which is an issue because feelings are only meant to ALERT you to reality - NOT define it." ~Cari Moisan

“The only (and most powerful) part of our existence that we truly have within our control is our perception. It's the one thing we can adjust the least & get the biggest impact." ~Cari Moisan

Drilling Down On Why We Focus On Perception & Belief

Your beliefs and perceptions shape your entire reality, and they're the foundation of everything we do here.  Here’s the deal: this work is about learning. You can't truly own your wins unless you understand how you created them. Whether we're using neuroscience-backed tools or diving into past life regressions or Akashic records, it all comes back to the same thing: your perceptions and beliefs. Always.

What You Need to Know About Perception
✔ Perception isn’t reality; it’s your brain’s best guess, filtered through past experiences and beliefs.
✔ We don’t see the world as it is; we see it as we are.
✔ Our emotional responses stem from our interpretations of past experiences, not the current events themselves.
✔ Your perception can be trained. Just like a muscle.

Why It Matters for Change
✔ Your brain is adaptable. Change the input, and you change the wiring.
✔ Negative perceptions reinforce negative loops—self-doubt, fear, and anxiety.
✔ Reframing breaks the loop. The less you feed old beliefs, the more they fade.
✔ Intentional thought = new neural pathways = better responses.
✔ Tiny shifts, practiced consistently, create lasting transformation.

Let's get a real-world fun example. Check out the Stroop Effect Exercise below.

Why The Stickmen?

I spent Saturday mornings as a kid drawing with my Papa John (an incredible artist). The best I ever got were stickmen. Except, almost every one of them was, let's say, anatomically blessed (I struggled connecting the body & legs). I still enjoy drawing them for nostalgia's sake, and I use them with my brand because I see them as an accurate depiction of our mental & emotional growth. At times, it can be awkward, imperfect, incomplete, and imbalanced, no matter how hard we try. But growth can also be purposeful, minimally perfect, and about satisfaction with who you are and not trying to pretend to be something you're not.

A Quick FYI In Hopes They Speak To You, Too

Your brain doesn't give a sh*t about truth.

Your brain doesn’t care about truth. It cares about what’s familiar, repeated, and predictable. It builds your reality around practiced patterns, not facts.

Still skeptical? Try the Stroop Effect Test. When the word “blue” is printed in red ink, your brain hesitates. Why? Because it’s wired to read the word, not see the color when you're looking at letters. That’s pattern over perception. Your conscious mind knows the right answer, but your subconscious says, “Just read the damn word.”

This is how subconscious beliefs work. The brain doesn’t stop to ask, “Is this true?” It runs whatever’s been rehearsed the most. That’s why you trip up, not because it’s hard, but because it’s unexpected. Now imagine how that same glitch shows up in your confidence, relationships, or goals. Yikes. But here’s the good news: patterns can be rewritten. Perception can shift. Even the most stubborn inner script can be reprogrammed, one small shift at a time.

The Stroop Effect
This simple but powerful exercise shows how your brain favors familiar patterns over actual truth. When the name of a color is printed in a color not denoted by the name (for example, the word 'Red' printed in blue ink), you will experience a conflict between what you see and what you expect. This is called the Stroop Effect.

Instructions
Say the color of the ink - out loud - for each word below - not the word itself. (For example, if the word is 'Blue' but written in red ink, you should say 'Red'.)

How'd you do? How many can you get done correctly—without fumbling—in 10 seconds? 20 seconds?

That little brain glitch you felt? That’s cognitive interference: your brain’s momentary scramble between what’s automatic (reading the word) and what’s intentional (naming the ink color). Reading is so well-worn in your neural pathways, it hijacks your focus without permission. Overriding it takes real effort, because your brain is trying to run two conflicting commands at once. You might want to respond differently, but your brain auto-plays the old pattern it knows best. The Stroop test is a live demo of what it feels like to interrupt a long-practiced pattern and feel your subconscious and conscious minds in conflict. To compare for yourself, see how much faster you can go through one that IS accurate to your pattern and prediction:
